Georeferencing and Atlasing of Literary Sources at the Chinese University of Hong Kong Colin Storey The ongoing projects for recording, storing and accessing Hong Kong literary and cultural sources which have been initiated by librarians and academics in The Chinese University of Hong Kong are outlined, for example: the Hong Kong Literature Archive and the Hong Kong Literature Research Centre; the Bamboo Fascicle Project jointly developed by the Library and the Chinese and History Departments, using ECAI Timemap (to display results in space and time) and ARCView8 (for viewing place names in Chinese); and, the Nobel prize-winner Gao Xingjian translation and collection–building project. In addition, there is a discussion of how the Chinese University can collaborate with the ECAI community in ways that will match international standards in the creation of georeferencing for data, and take a lead in the Pearl River Delta area in working with and helping to coordinate other ECAI initiatives.
